Riding home in a taxi. the kids are discussing finishing their regular season in basketball this afternoon against the much larger and older UNIS teams.
The girls lost 17-4 although Ellie played three quarters and said she had fun. Walking out she said, "I'm actually kind of sad that was out last regular season game." Never would have guessed hearing that from her.
The boys also lost 27-17. Noah had 15 of the 17 points for the team, and it was actually tied 11-11 at halftime until the other coach increased the defense on Noah in the second half. Since I was sitting near the UNIS bench, it was entertaining for me to listen to the opposing coach talk about Noah -- "Who can stop that guy? Are you going to do it? Are you?" I don't think they were expecting much of a game going in!
Their end of season tournament is next weekend. Go Patriots.
