soccer field progress...?

For the past few months we've been treated to a spectacular evolution of the landscape below us (next to the park), and we've spent that time speculating what might be happening.  What were they doing and building?  Would it be soccer fields?  An extension of the park?  New buildings?  Most days they've been out there with a bulldozer, an excavator, and a giant roller.

Here is what the land looked like when we moved into Star Tower late August:

And here is what they started doing in about mid-September:

We were told they were going to be putting in a soccer field.  At least we think that's what they said.  We pass by that spot frequently, but our basic Vietnamese is not enough to completely understand what they said.  They kept going, and by mid-October, they expanded:

More progress -- concrete starting to be poured and new fencing going up October 29:

More progress: gravel going down.

Another area cleared on November 5.  If these were soccer fields, they were putting a lot in:

Finally they put a sign up and started to answer our questions:

The sign reads, "The Parking Spot.  Vehicles with four seats to 54 seats.  Car wash -- Oil Change"

Gotta say, I'm kind of disappointed.  We were hoping for something a little exciting than a parking lot.  We were also told in Star Tower today that they will be building another Star Tower right next to ours, so maybe they are getting ready for that.
