Day 1 -- gifts and school visits, bun cha and pho

After a restful first night in Hanoi and a Western-style breakfast at the hotel across the street, Pete and his family came over to present some gifts from America -- food the kids had requested:

Next we took Peter, Kristin, Wyatt, and Jack for their first walk through the alleys around our house ended up at our favorite bun cha place for lunch:










After lunch we explored the markets around Libby's school before the kids went off to help Libby teach art and Peter, Kristin, and I stopped by the English classes to help teach English:
