traveling to Hả Tĩnh

For our epic week-long trip to central Vietnam, we elected to try many different modes of transportation, including train, plane, and automobile.  We started with a six-hour train trip to Vinh and then took a hired car to Hả Tĩnh where the orphanage is located.  Viet was nice enough to accompany us on the first part of our trip to the orphanage.  We didn't really know it at the time, but her help was invaluable in getting us started at the orphanage and confirming our ride to our next destination, Hue.



There was a TV in our car, but they were only playing cheesy Vietnamese songs and yoga exercise videos:

Water buffalo were everywhere.  The scenery on the way down was beautiful and typical rural, working Vietnam:
