Earlier I had posted about coffee and motorbikes in Vietnam. Here are two updates:
1. I had a chance to try traditional Vietnamese egg coffee today, which is generally served in Hanoi and northern Vietnam. It is made with beaten egg yolks, sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and espresso coffee. The cup is served in a bowl of hot water to retain its temperature. Egg coffee has been described as liquid tiramisu. It was surprisingly good -- not as bitter as some of the other coffees I've had in Vietnam. It is airy and sweet (but not too sweet), and you can taste the coffee but not so much the egg.
2. We've seen some crazy things carried on a motorbike, but this afternoon Libby and I saw a refrigerator being moved by one. We think this will take the prize while we are here, but who knows? We'll be here another three months.
