So while Labor Day in the United States means no school for kids, the children in Hanoi were not so lucky. Libby and our four kids went to the gifted middle/high school that is affiliated with Libby's university. Libby taught the art club for about an hour, and then our kids went off to class. Ellie and Finn joined up with a fun English class of high school students, while Carter and Finn went to gym class and played basketball (and they are quick to point out that they won all four games against the Vietnamese kids). All four of our kids said they had a great day and were really happy with how welcoming their fellow students were. We're still figuring out their schedule but this is a good first step.

Ellie and Carter were sitting with their English class in the front row, then were called up to the stage with their class to lead the school in a song. Finn also answered a question correctly at the assembly which earned him a pack of fruit-flavored Mentos.
