"You married up, Ed"

Libby has been spending the last couple of days in Washington DC at orientation for Fulbright scholars. She's been sending us pictures and highlights from her trip.  Here is the Twitter post from the Fulbright Program with Libby in the middle:

And some other shots of her trip:

The fact that Libby is a Fulbright Scholar is amazing  and well-deserved. Her initiative to go after this grant has been constant ever since she got the idea about 15 months ago.  She's always been passionate about the idea of traveling abroad, and since we've been married she has gone to Toronto, New Zealand, Belgium, Sweden, and Argentina (either with me or by herself).  And now this is the culmination of her dreams -- to take her family for four months on the adventure of a lifetime.

But more than that, Libby is so talented and accomplished with her artwork and teaching and ideas, and that is a big reason why she was chosen.  To say that we're proud of her really doesn't do it justice.  As my wise mother said to me when I told her the news of the trip, "You married up, Ed."  No kidding!
