National Teacher's Day

In Vietnam, teachers are regarded in very high esteem. This is culminated in a entire day to recognize teachers called National Teacher's Day. In addition to the gifts and cards Libby received from her students, her school put on an assembly and beautiful dinner for teachers (we were lucky enough to be allowed to bring our children).

When we get back to the States, we're going to suggest to Ted Lysiak a lavish buffet for teachers with jumbo shrimp and a pho station...

Libby's principal is greeting important dignitaries (the police and others):

After the principal spoke, there were a few performances from students and teachers:

The spread.  This picture doesn't begin to do justice to the buffet options that were there:

  1. The same was true in Japan (and still is.) Teachers are held in very high regard in Asia. If only the same could be true in America! I'm guessing that Ted will be very excited about your stateside buffet idea. Lol. Thanks for all the great pictures from your recent event! And... as I write this... Peter and his family are on their way to see you! What a fabulous adventure this will be for all 10 of you! ~mom
