from Mexico to Korea

The past two nights we have experienced two radically different cuisines.  Last night Ellie got to choose where we ate, so we jumped in a taxi for a 30 minute ride to the Tay Ho district and filled our bellies with tacos, burritos, salsa and guacamole at the Salt-n-Lime.  It really hit the spot:








And tonight, we had Carter's Korean friend Justin over after school and went to the Korean restaurant across the street from our apartment.  Since the menu was only in Korean and Vietnamese with no pictures, we were grateful to have Justin help us order.  We chowed down on rice balls in seaweed, dumplings, seafood ramen, a potato cake, kimchi, and other yummy things with Korean-sounding names:








Finn discovered tonight that he likes crab meat -- the real stuff, not the imitation crab they sell in grocery stores in the States.  Here he is trying to get every last morsel with his chopstick:
